LEADERSHIP IS EQUAL TO THE DIRECTION, OR MANAGEMENT OF A GROUP OR ORGANIZATION (R.D. MAN)
It is the ability to make people want to do things they would not ordinarily think of doing, and the ability to make the people want to accept on their own, the objective of the enterprise of which they are a part.
Leading implies a shared direction (Cecil A. Gibb)
Leader influence suggests a possitive contribution towards the attainment of goals. (Hollander and Julian 1964)
The emphasis of leadership behavior is initiating the goals, objectives, configurations, procedure inputs, process, or out-puts social systems.
It is the ability to attain the maximum support and effort from the group.
Leadership is firstly the ability to motivate self, and secondly to motivate others.
It is the ability to see a problem, recognize it, plan solution without having to be prompted by someone else.
Leadership is the lifting of the person’s higher plans, the raising of the person’s performance to a higher standard and the building of a person’s personality beyond its normal limitations.
Leaders are made, not born.
